SHAPES can be used in a huge variety of situations not only on the face and body, it’s useful in most blendshape workflows.

By Ingo Clemens over at www.braverabbit.de SHAPES maximises the power of maya’s blendshape system. It’s a tool that does all the things you’d want with blendshapes. Extremely powerful and simple to use. Rigs created with shapes will run without the plugin installed unless you’re using the in built pose space deformers (weighted drivers). Ingo has made the weighted drivers freely downloadable so only the TDs need the commercial plugin for setup. Most students won’t need that weighted drivers. They’re used in corrective blend shape workflow on objects prone to gimbal. Shoulders and thighs etc. See the body version of this tutorial.

Shapes personal learning edition is free and can be dowloaded here . The PLE is full featured with a popup message window.

The commercial version of SHAPES is 130€.
