CONVERT RENDERER – OVERVIEW
Convert Renderer is a tool that will instantly convert a renderer between our three supported renderers, Arnold, Redshift and Renderman. Limitations apply.
THE PROBLEM
Converting between different renderers can be painfully tricky.
THE SOLUTION
Convert Renderer converts scenes between our supported renders almost instantly with the click of a button.
The tool converts shaders and lights to the native renderer node types.
See below for the support object and attribute types.
SUPPORTED INFORMATION
The following shader attributes are supported.
Area Light Supported Attributes
Name, Intensity, Exposure, Shape, Normalize, Visibility, Color, Temperature, Translate, Rotate, Scale
Directional Light Supported Attributes
Name, Intensity, Soft Angle, Rotation, Color, Temperature
Skydome HDR (IBL) Light Supported Attributes
Name, Intensity, Rotate, Translate, Scale, HDR Image, Invert Direction, Skydome Visibility
Shader Support
Supported shader types,
– Arnold’s aiStandardSurface
– Redshift’s redshiftMaterial
– Renderman’s PXR Surface
Supportes shader attributes,
– Diffuse Weight and Color
– Specular Weight, Color, Roughness and IOR
– Clear Coat Weight, Color, Roughness and IOR
Texture Supported Attributes
Skydome/HDRI textures are supported.
These texture connections will be replaced while switching, existing textures must be supported in both renderers, for example you can switch textures with file texture nodes, ramps, checkers, and many default Maya nodes etc.
– Diffuse Weight and Color
– Specular Weight, Color, Roughness and IOR
– Clear Coat Weight, Color, Roughness and IOR
ROADMAP
Support for displacement, normal map, bump map and metalness attributes is planned. We’d like to support other types too.
