FREE BOUNCY BALL RIG AND TUTORIAL – OVERVIEW

The free Bouncy Ball Tutorial is a fun and easy beginner demonstration that will get you started in Maya’s Graph Editor.

The ball rig is simple and intuitive, with enjoyable squash and stretch controls.

This is a free rig so grab it at the bottom of this page if you do not own a copy of Zoo Tools Pro.

If you’ve bought Zoo Tools Pro this rig comes in our Maya Scenes Pack.

 


 

We’ve also included this scene with a Fix Viewport Light Setup , grid scene, and an example animation too.

Preset Viewport Grid Scenes and our Fix Viewport Tool is included in Zoo Tools Pro and you can use these scenes to present your own models and animation.

PAID DOWNLOAD USE / INSTALL

This rig is free (scroll down) but if you’ve purchased Zoo Tools Pro then the rig and animation files are included in our Maya Scenes Pack.

Install the assets/presets, instructions are on our Install Page.

After unzipping the assets pack simply open our Scenes Browser (.MA/.MB) open the folder sidebar and select the zoo_rigs_manual. Be sure that the renderer icon (bottom right) is set to Maya.

Double-Click the image of the ball files to open the file.

This scene is Maya 2020 + compatible, earlier versions of Maya you will need to assign your own shaders.

Unzip the files into a single directory anywhere on your computer and open any of the files from inside Maya.
