It doesn’t work when I clicked the Place Reflection bottom you demoed in Video 2.4, I did install the script. Any idea what is going wrong?
It should just work, there is no need to install any extras. Can you open the script editor and let me know if there are any errors when you click on the buttons? Make sure you have a light selected before running.
It has suport for Maya 2017?
Yes should be ok in 2017
Andrew, I’m in love with zoo tools, however, I can’t find a tutorial talking about zoo shaders using displacement maps and the mattes AOVs :(, I honestly think that $10 doesn’t do it justice of how good this is! I can’t wait for zoo tools 2,
Thanks, Keny apologies for the late reply, for others the best displacement map tutorial is here (scroll down)
I’d like to do a dedicated displacement page.
For the mattes, video 5.3 here, though it only works well for Arnold and Redshift, Renderman there is some manual setup.
Hey Andrew! Do these work on viewport 2.0 at all?
Sorry Alex, I’ve only noticed that my notifications were getting spam filtered (face palm). Yes, but only in Arnold, there is word that Autodesk is making generic HDRIs that will work in all renderers, so we are holding out for those.
where i can find the keyboard shortcuts for maya
It’s found under the tools menu, here.
Video 1.1 to Video 3.5 are not available because of its own privacy settings.
Hi Dominic, I’ve just checked the settings and the settings are all good. The only issues with videos like this are potential conflicts with web plugins which re-route the site. So some plugins can make it seem like your browser is not connected to create3dcharacters.com.
Try reloading the page or a different browser. Disconnect any web plugins that may be re-routing the website. Let me know how you go. This issue will affect all videos. So it may just be a page refresh is all you need.
I’m having problems installing Packages Assets, IBL and Light presets. When I put them in their place Maya sends me this error
# Error: WindowsError: file C:/Users/user/Documents/maya/2018/scripts/create3dcharacters/zooToolsPro\zoo\libs\maya\utils\files.py line 27: 5 #
Hi Noelia, I’ll email you privately. This error seems to be it’s having trouble finding your temp directory which is necessary for some of our operations. I’ll email you to follow this up.
Please tell me why the material conversion function of renderman to arnold does not support link texmap？
We just have been building Zoo Tools 2 and we have been behind with small little things, texture support is on the top of our list now that Zoo2 is up and running.
Hi, im having a problem, im in Maya 2018 it says this and i need to use it in maya 2018…
The shelf “C3dC” has items that cannot be read.
Is there a solution for it?
Hi Lauro, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can sort out issues like this. I can email you the shelf, sometimes it corrupts, that might be it.
I can’t seem to figure out why my skydomes are not rendering. Upon a little research, some say if I update my Arnold to version 4 it will fix it (currently MtoA 220.127.116.11 in Maya2018 and MtoA 4.0 in Maya2020). Tried opening in both Maya versions and still no luck.
Thank you in advance. I’ve learned so much from this curriculum already:)
Figured it out with some fiddling. It was that the camera visibility attribute on the skydome’s shape node needed to be set to a value other than zero.
Good to hear. btw in Zoo2 there is a checkbox when you create the skydomes, “Background Vis” that should also affect the skydome in the same way when you create (or edit) it. In Zoo 1 it should be in the bottom bar too.
hi Andrew for me preset is not working im trying to save light preset but it show empty folder
Hi Mustfa, I imagine you’re trying to install for Zoo Tools Pro v2? If so grab the pack on the installer page here.
Apologies I’m going to put a big notice on this page for that. Let me know via email if you have other issues. ta
