Here’s our Natalie Rig included with Zoo Tools Pro live linking from Maya 2023 to Unreal Engine 5 in realtime.
Loads of potential here!! Hive is our Zoo Tools auto-rigger is game engine friendly with its own FBX Export Tool and as you can see this Natalie scene (included with Zoo) is working well with the live-link.
We noticed a few teething issues in our initial tests with UE 5.0.0. Although UE 4 works well in UE5 there’s a slight sync problem so scrubbing is one frame out, and UE5 seems to have flickering issues regarding handling animated morph targets, the workaround fix is to turn off anti-aliasing. Individual poses with morph issues can be cleaned up by rebuilding the lights.
But this is all new so we are expecting these small issues to be fixed very soon. This all looks very promising!
