Zoo 2.6.0 is our biggest release and marks the first version of Hive our brand new auto-rigger! Please note that Hive is in alpha and ready for testing but it should not be relied upon for production.

We’ve upgraded five browsers with a new multi-folder select feature, and Focus Puller now supports all our supported renderers and bokeh settings. The Zoo UIs now sport a new look with style tweaks. Numerous other bug fixes and tweaks.

Pleas Note: We’ve updated our assets to match Zoo 2.6.0’s multi-folder feature and Hive. Please download both new asset packs from the install page .

New Tool – Hive Autorigger Alpha 1:
This release comes with our biggest ever tool, Hive our new auto-rigger has been in development for many years and we are releasing Hive in alpha. Please do not use Hive in production or real projects yet as it will likely change and rigs will not be forwards compatible. Hive can be tested and we welcome any feedback!

Hive is by far our biggest tool, and we are proud to finally have it out in the wild, we will be adding more features with each new Zoo Tools release.

Enhancement – Multi-Folder Browser Select
Five of our browsers now support multi-folder select; this feature allows you to easily add/remove multiple folders from anywhere on your hard drive or network.

Folder names can be tagged with alias names and their paths are not renamed.

The browser folders can be single selected or multi-selected to show and search the contents of multiple folders.

Upgraded browsers:

– Maya Scenes
– Maya Shaders
– Shader Presets
– Image Plane Tool
– Control Creator

The remaining browsers will be upgraded in the next release Zoo 2.6.1

– Model Assets
– Light Presets
– HDRI Skydomes

Enhancement – Focus Puller
Focus Puller now supports Arnold, Renderman and Redshift focus bokeh settings. Focus Puller is now stable and out of beta.

New Asset Packs:
We’ve upgraded our asset packs for Assets/Presets and Maya Scenes. Please download those from the install install page .

Assets are now organised into folders for our browsers that support multi-folder select.

The new packs also include:

– Robo Textured TPose (ready for Hive rigging)
– Natalie A Pose (ready for rigging)
– Natalie Lores Mesh (ready for Hive rigging)

Enhancement – Maya Scenes – Auto Set Project
You can now conveniently add multiple folders to Maya Scenes inside many Maya projects. Opening Maya scenes inside the Maya Scenes tool will ask you if you’d like to automatically change project directories.

Enhancement – Fix Viewport
Fix Viewport can now change presets without deleting the HDRI image, so you can now change to any HDRI skydome and change presets without losing the HDRI image. This tool is much more stable and is now out of beta.

Enhancement – New UI Look
We’ve made a few UI tweaks to include the Roboto font on all window and toolset titles. Tools are now displayed in capital letters on each toolset tool.

Bug Fix – Browser Stability 2022
We’ve continued to work on browser stability in 2022, crashes in the previous version were rare but the browsers should be very stable now.

Bug Fix – Spline Rig
We’ve addressed some Spline Rig bugs, it should be more stable.
